Spaziogames - Marino Puntorieri - Italian - 7.4 / 10. Otherwise, Shadow Warrior 3 is uninspired and underdeveloped. They're good ideas, but I found that in practice you pick up so many of these gems, and different iterations of the same gem can change numbers by such small fractions that I was frequently tinkering with my guns and, more often than not, it felt like busywork. In my opinion, Shadow Warrior 1s game design is better suited for that franchise. Shadow Warrior 3 is an adrenaline-fueled romp through a violently chaotic world. At its best, Shadow Warrior 3 is a competent Doom clone, serviceable enough for anyone that is really looking to kill some demons and kill some time, but perhaps best at a discount. You'll find a lot of weapons in the game: chainsaws, katanas, grenade launchers, assault rifles, revolvers and even a nailgun are all littered around for you to find, and each can have three different objects slotted into them - this might be the ability to two-fist machine pistols, or a gem to make your katana electrocute enemies or even just something to let you have more ammunition in the magazine. I also found myself quickly in a love-hate relationship with the weapon customisation. Often it means that after a big fight you won't run into anyone else for a little while, and while the game has a sprint and ninja-dash function, covering ground isn't the game's strong point. Shadow Warrior was released by 3D Realms in 1997, following in the wake of the wildly successful Duke Nukem 3D. Whilst one is locked behind a pre-order bonus, the Saw Blade is the option available to all and its also the more powerful of the two.

The maps are threaded together from hand-crafted plots of land so it isn't completely random, but it's still easy to get lost until you learn how to navigate the pieces. Its clear Flying Wild Hog is a fan of 40k, because why else would there be not one but two different Chainswords to use in Shadow Warrior 2. You play as the former freelance mercenary Lo Wang, and mainly just try to get from A to B. This time it’s going for a more linear arena shooter style, similar to 2013s Shadow Warrior, and it’s got generally the right idea.

My primary complaint within a few hours of play is that the procedurally generated maps completely kill the pacing. Shadow Warrior 3 continues the series tradition of completely rebooting the style of each game.
